Ingredients:
- 5 pounds (2.27 kg) of coarsely ground corn
- 1 teaspoon of yeast

- 1 gallon (3.78 L) of water
Instructions:
- In a large pot, combine the corn, yeast, sugar, salt, and water.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, or until the corn is tender and the mixture has reached an internal temperature of 160 degrees F (71 degrees C).
- Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a fermenter.
- Pitch the yeast into the fermenter and stir gently.
- Cover and let ferment at room temperature for 24 hours, or until the yeast is active and the mixture has reached an internal temperature of 70 degrees F (21 degrees C).
- Strain the mixture into a clean container and let it ferment for an additional 48 hours, or until it has reached a gravity of 1.020.
- Bottle or keg the finished product and let it age for at least 2 weeks before drinking.
Tips:
- For a more flavorful beverage, use high-quality corn.
- You can adjust the amount of sugar to your taste.
- If you don't have a fermenter, you can make a large batch of cornmeal and let it ferment for 24 hours before straining and bottling.
- Food-grade corn can be used to make corn whiskey.
